Ok, that's a comment by you, Pip, but what about the other stuff? What are your thoughts on about 90% of the other stuff? Are you telling me you have no questions or protest other than that you have to do cardio? See, I'd ask if it'd be possible to build muscles while doing cardio, but you're just asking if nobody listened to you. Your response gives me the impression that you ignored everything that has been said, and you just want to keep doing what you do because that's within your comfort zone.

If you want to build muscles, you have to consume more protein, have proper form, and just barely make the last rep. Cardio should be done at the end, and the amount of reps depend on your goal. For strength you do a few reps with heavy weights, whereas if you want to get big muscles the repitions range is 8-12.

How do you do bicep curls with a dumbell? You start out with the weights at the bottom, then you move the weights up without moving your arms (only your forearms), then as you're about to reach the height limit you twist the dumbells to the side while holding your arms straight, then at the end of your upward movement you twist back into position and move down to the starting position..

See that? That's a detailed explanation of how you do a simple exercise, but every detail is important. The same applies to triceps cable pulldown. Back straight and leaning forward (backward if you're doing cable curls) You start at the top, push it down with your forearms, then as you're about to reach the bottom with your forearms, you move your hands to the side as if splitting the line in two, then put them back together as you're moving up.

You breathe out as the heavy part of the exercise is being done, then you breathe in when the resting part comes along. With the bench press you're supposed to breathe out as you push the bar up, and breathe in when you slowly lower the bar.

If you eat right, sleep right, and have the form as well as do the breathing correctly, you will get bigger muscles. You also need to know your strength. You're obviously not going to build any muscles if you eat too little, have bad form, or do light weights. It's during sleep that your muscles are being built.

With thirty minutes, there's also little time to actually do an actual, impactful routine. That being said, any amount of lifting combined with proper nutrition is going to yield muscle mass, even if it's not that optimal considering the time constraints. You can do your best to super-set exercises to save time, and maybe do more compound than isolation movements to target as much as you can in that small amount of time. But, of course, you're not going to gain anything significant unless you're eating right. You need to eat a high-protein, high-calorie diet to build muscle mass.
