got me thinking, have you ever been in a crash? when i was fairly new at driving, i was exiting my street, but i had forgotten something, so i made a bad turn, and ended up going to the curb (i live in a cul de sack, so there's only 1 entry/exit). no problem, i reversed and pressed the gas pedal, but i had forgotten to shift to drive like a dumbass. i started zooming backwards while my mom was like stop what are you doing. i ended up backing hard into the sidewalk and into someone's fence. the car wasn't wrecked, just some noticeable marks on the back

i also got into a bus crash when i was in 7th grade, i was going to school and a suv didn't give the bus the right of way and the car slammed right into the side of the bus

Came close last year when I went to the beach last year in a 2-car convoy with my sister. Some dumb cunt rear-ended my sister's car at the stop sign. My sister was behind me while I was at the stop sign. That stupid lady ended up getting arrested because she was drunk and under the influence of something else I guess. She was coming up with excuses to the cops to try to put the blame on my sister but that bitch knew what she did.

i hope i never encounter a drunk person they're dangerous af, but it's good your sister wasn't hurt

kinda reminds me tho, a few months ago i was driving to my college to turn in my transcripts, and there was this suspicious fiat going like 25 in a 50, so i kept my eye on it

as i got closer to the university the fiat was weaving thru lanes and was actually gaining on me, so i moved to the right and sure enough it bolted over the speed bumps, and kept going straight onto the curb, and into the college's front lawn, and almost ran over a dude walking by... later when i was leaving i noticed school police as well as an ambulance so i'd imagine he was under the influence of something

Only a very minor one. Friend was driving and someone a few cars ahead slammed their brakes on for some reason, so made a few cars rear end each other. I was in the last car so it barely even hit, just enough to bend the number plate slightly.

That happens way more than it should whenever I drive to Los Angeles when going through the mountains. Some people just don't know how to handle their cars.

I hit another Corolla in mine and because mine's an old car I only took cosmetic damage while theirs was totalled. Cheeky nigger pulled into my lane and came to a complete stop in a 60 zone and I didn't even have time to react. Entire left side of my car was completely airborne and I think I damaged part of the steering assembly.

When I was a kid one time my dad was being stupid in a parking lot next to a footy oval and locked up the brakes. Slid straight into the fence and damaged the front end/radiator. Mum was soo mad at him. I think the fence pole is still bent at that oval too. Been at least 16 years since it happened.

Also tfw scraped my R34 getting into my driveway and ruined the front bumper (body kit is from a GTR Nür Edition and costs like $2.5k to replace)

One small fender-bender because some guy speed through a light and whipped it into a parking lot intersection where I was trying to cross. Was ruled my fault because I had a stop sign even though I had stopped, waited, and then had plenty of time to cross if he hadn't came speeding in. Cop didn't even want to hear another bystander who was trying to vouch for me.

Then a few months later I was getting on the interstate on a busy Friday night. Traffic was nuts and I was looking over and behind me to make sure I was good to merge in. Speed up to about 45 mph and the guy in front of me was too scared to merge into traffic so he hit the brakes and came to a complete stop in front of me. When I turned my head back to the front it was too late to stop in time so I rammed right into the back of him. Was ruled a double fault smfh.

I try maintain a good balance between driving passively and aggressively because of those incidents. Driving too aggressive is obviously a risk for you and those around you, but driving too passively can be just as bad. This town is loaded with overly passive drivers and it aggravates the hell out of me at times. I often seem to get stuck behind someone too afraid to make a turn or someone driving 10 under the speed limit.

Nothing major, just had the car hit and dented on the right.

Scariest moments of my life have happened in cars.

When I was ten this guy literally spun out in front of us in seventy mile an hour traffic whilst on the interstate. We hit him when my mom slowed down to a speed that wouldn't kill us, but the guy was fucking crazed. Signs point (now that my world-view is more broad) to him being on meth or heroin at the time due to how much he was twitching and spasming. Mom asked me to get his license plate number after he drove off before the cops came, but I was too young to remember a vague jumbling of letters and so he got away.

Next time was dad high as fuck on prescription meds, passing out at the wheel. Literally had to jerk the wheel hard to the right to keep us from careening off into a twenty foot drop and into a river.

Last time my friend hit a deer while I was sleeping in the passengers seat. Not as traumatic as the others, but the transition from rest to utter panic is to this day the most jarring thing I've experienced.
