Someone that rose to power could maybe get somewhere. But the vast majority of people wouldn't be down with driving the human race to extinction.

We hate them because of their actions.which they couldn't control because they were psychopathsYou can get treated if you're a psychopath; not every one of them commits a violent crime. I'm talking about things you literally have no control over (and that don't affect others). People hate people who have certain fetishes, who are interested in the same sex, who have too much melanin in their skin. Those are the things that you truly have no control over.

I'd say it's our choice if we want to reproduce or not with all the knowledge that we possess. It's not actually our choice. We effectively have two brains, an advanced brain seen in no other organism capable of thinking this and an animal brain that goes off instinct. That is why human behavior is so contradictory -- overeating on a diet, wanting to commit suicide but can't, etc. etc.

There isn't truly a purpose for organisms, life itself is the result of a "monkey with an infinite amount of time and a typewriter" kind of situation, but you can use your advanced brain that we have been blessed with to create a false sense of purpose.
Also, why not wait? In reality humans won't be around long, it only seems that way because of our warped perception of time.

But it is merely our perception. Knowing that in reality, it being really no time at all makes the amount of effort required to intentionally bring ourselves to extinction kind of pointless.

Why should you?
Quote from: KinderEssen on November 24, 2015, 05:04:15 PMWhy should you?For the same reason I want my pizza delivered in ten minutes, not thirty.Won't make much of a difference in the end, but there's no reason I should have to wait.
That's an interesting comparison but it's not really the same, because getting rewarding stimuli as quickly and efficiently as possible is instinct-driven.
