Marty had some good songs but he's a pretty shallow composer overallgetting rid of Davidge was a mistake, the only problem with the game's soundtrack was it's usage.

You lookin to stir shit up, boy?
Quote from: Casper on July 16, 2017, 06:26:53 PMYou lookin to stir shit up, boy?yeah, kindai also think that halo 4's soundtrack is criminally underrated, because the halo fanbase has a pretty narrow and childish understanding of music.

The issue arises in that by the time 4 rolled around, Halo had and identifiable, iconic sound pioneered by Marty. Not every track was a hit, and hell the series even lost some of it's synth sounds from CE. But there's a sound and style to Halo, even Halo Wars mostly had it, that was lacking in 4. It's a case like Dark Souls II, it's a bad Souls game, but not necessarily a bad game.
"holy shit man one final effort is fucking great, lets listen to it 40 more times on repeat. this soundtrack is amazing."

I think it's unmemorable.I can hum a tune to Halo 3, Reach, even ODST, but I can't remember shit about Halo 4.

It can evolve over time, but compare ME to ME3. They're wildly different, but ME at least had its own identity whereas ME3 was the definition of generic. The music of Halo was different with each game but still constrained enough to be identified with Halo as a series
I like 1's mainly because it's the only one I remember 4 had some great tracks, happy they kept the tune of sorts for 5 But I haven't really cared for Halo music, something about it just doesn't click with me
4 had some pretty solid music, but it was no ODST.
also jinnouchi is a talentless hack
i mean the game is still dogshit but credit where credit is due
