Bungie is now requiring people to reach a certain destination in Destiny 2 in order to post on the forums, and unlike D1 there is no demo which means many people are getting permanently kicked off.

Expect more people to come here if not Sapphire. I'm sure I'll spend more time on Sep7 myself.

So you don't need to play any Destiny game to post in the Help section, but you need to do 30 minutes of shit on Destiny 2 to post  in Gaming or Offtopic. Really activates my almonds.

People seem to think it's to quell all the negative criticism they're receiving. Specifically centered around the whole 'remove eververse' shit. Kicking people from gaming and off-topic just doesn't make any sense, though. It's pretty obvious they don't give a shit about the old Halo/Oni/Marathon fans.

From what it seems it is about Eververse, specifically people spamming the forums with "remove eververse". They want to guarantee people play the game before giving feedback, which is understandable. But why go after OffTopic and Gaming? Probably because they want it to be a Destiny-only site and in the process of creating such a site they don't care who they screw over, even it's people with 10 or more years on their accounts. This is the nail in the coffin for Bungie IMO.

There’s this gif of an F-Zero X map in which a curve happens out of nowhere and throws all the racers off the track. I can’t find it off a quick search, but it sums up the experience of being a Halo player/follower of anything except Destiny on Bungie forums nicely.

I'm shocked that they've kept the Halo-related avatars and Spartans for this long. I guarantee those will be gone in 2-3 months.
