Those without spirituality are lost. But we must extinguish the Judeo-christian cancer upon the Earth, and worship the true gods of old.

Oh, holy fucking shit you can't be serious.

Freedom of religion doesn't mean that people just have to utterly accept and tolerate your opinions. If you don't want to have the discussion, then shut it down and just clearly state you don't want to discuss it and you're sorry for not saying that in the first place.

Although, depending on the class, the teacher should really stay out of it. That being said, I've had arguments with teachers before - in one of which the teacher was explicitly questioning free speech - and I've never felt oppressed in any measure.

Boo fucking hoo, they asked you questions and tried to have a discussion.

Unless you were being insulted or excluded for something based on your atheism you have no real reason to complain.

Teacher should not have gotten involved though

Having your whole class bitch and whine at you(your teacher included) about your religious views is not having a discussion. Not to mention they wasted half of the fucking class trying to get me to admit there is a god.

Have you lived here?
Have you gone to school here?

Yes, none of the people here ride horses where ever they go.
Yes, people don't wear cow boy hats 24/7
While these stereotypes are definitely not true. The fact that there are very religous people here is. It also depends on where you live, I live in an area with a lot of hispanics= lots of catholics. I honestly don't see why you're arguing with someone who's lived here for 15 years

Because they are extremely religious amd intolerant, from what I've heard.
I want to live somewhere where people wont try to shove religion down your throat.

Well i did say "from what I've heard" not that it was 100% true. I also said in my last post that it depends on the area you live in, nice job ignoring that.

Good fucking job.

Its funny how you bitch at me for this when i even stated that I didn't know if it was true, while rc has been fueling his arguement with info about one area.
The bottom line is, a lot of people in Texas are very religious.

You shouldn't base decisions like that "from what you've heard". I'm not disagreeing that Texas is pretty religious as far as southern states go, I'm telling you your basing such a decision on such information isn't a clever thing to do. I don't give a fuck what RC's going on about, although I'm fairly certain he's actually just making the same point I am.

And you have done the same by using one area to base your information on the whole state. Just necase one area is npt extremely religous doesnt  mean other areas arent .

i've been all around the state, though.

not that that's relevant, but yeah, texas isn't really how you see it through your angsty teenaged eyes.

But he isn't doing that.

He's just using one instance to demonstrate how you're stereotyping others. He isn't using that one example as a blanket-characterisation of the entire state of Texas.
