Going to Savannah!

I am super excited! We're leaving Friday morning, staying that night, and leaving Saturday night.
It's a short trip, but it's going to be a lot of fun and well worth it!

Some of the things we get to do:

It's a convenient coincidence that the Seafood Festival is this weekend! We love seafood!

Also it's the first Friday of the month so there will be FIREWORKS!

The Pirate House

I am most excited to go to The Pirate House which is one of the oldest buildings and most haunted (if you believe in that kind of thing) in Savannah! We're also planning on visiting The Moon River Brewing Company that was once a hotel, but is also haunted.

We're also going to go to Chippewa Square to visit the area where the Forrest Gump bench "box of chocolates" scene was shot, because why not.

Life is like a box of chocolates

Of course we will also be sight seeing other parks and shops on River Street, but we plan on ending our trip with a detour to Tybee Island to watch the sunset on a beach.

I can't wait and just wanted to share! I'm going to be working 8 days straight in order to get my short 3-day weekend.

I'm actually pretty jealous, I'm roots are from the south. Soon after I get home I'm going on a huge vacation to south Carolina. But Georgia looks SWEET.

Yeah I live in Georgia and I love it here, but I'm kind of biased because I've only ever lived here.

Visiting family over there I haven't seen in over a decade now. They're giving me the grand tour, all of the old relics and such. Old slave mansions.

Also I recommend the Crystal Beer Parlor. It has a cool history and you'll want to make a reservation or else you'll be waiting an hour. It seriously has some of the best food I've ever had, get the peach cobbler for dessert.

The only thing I'm truly determined to do right now is get back to better health. No vacations or fun in the foreseeable future.

OOOO!!! That does sound rather exciting! Please do take pictures! I love seeing old historic places like that! There's an old historic Plantation not too far from where I live and it's a beautiful place as long as you forget about the torture of slaves. They even had a make shift freezer dug into the earth that they would put ice in to freeze foods.
