hmm, I don't know one exact source, however I could give you the different varieties to search up in more detail

Gladius Hispaniensis

Pompeii Gladius

Mainz Gladius- most of the ones pictured here are mainz/fullham, which are very similar

Fulham Gladius

it's interesting to see blade design change with tactics, the swords above are complete remakes of original roman swords.

in hwhat language?

Latin

Once Christianity took over though the  official word for dicks was changed to penis (little tail) because they thought it would curb everyone's sexuality.

This thread is much more amusing when you read it as "Penis Problem" and then proceed to talk about the types of penises you want.

What are you going to be using it on? Buy a machete.

it's fun as hell to test these swords on my invasive bamboo grove, although the gladius is primarily a thrusting weapon. It's just a hobby of mine i guess, I like this shiet.

I would argue that the gladius would be very effective at both cutting and thrusting, the very acute point would be excellent for thrusting, but the broad blade and slightly curved edges would make it very effective for chopping.

Also out of the ones you listed, I would go with 1 or 3, Albion are are great choice when it comes to swords but they're also very expensive. I've had my eyes on a particular sword from them (specifically this one) for quite some time but I just haven't had the funds to obtain it.

You could chop with it, yes, but I don't think that was an intended use until the hispaniesis with it's narrow body and wide head. I'd argue that the broad surface of the gladius was to maximize damage from a stab wound.

I agree with this 1000/10. Its a hobby of mine too. Im hoping to start making my own knives from blanks and hopefully swords if I get good enough.

I guess that would make sense, after all thrusting would be easier to do in tight formations and a wide blade would give a bigger stab wound, but what I'm saying is that the design seems to also have cutting in mind, specifically the fact that they widen towards the tip creating an excellent chopping point for when an opponent exposes an arm or leg in battle. So yes the gladius was mostly used to stab, but it would have also been a very effective cutting sword as well, which is a good thing because it makes for a very versatile weapon that can be used in whatever way the situation required.
