China blocked it because they're afraid of spooky scary ghosts, so don't expect any cushion numbers from the east. This movie is objectively bad, end of discussion. There are certain individuals here (they know who they are) that would have you believe that this movie is not only a success because of its female cast and its hate campaign against its own original fanbase, but that anyone who says otherwise is somehow that real problem and this movie is some kind of shining example of what others movies should be. I want these individuals to know with 100% certainty, beyond any reasonable doubt that they were wrong and that this political agenda pushing bullshit backfired.

Sony simply announced "There's no doubt in our mind that there will be a sequel." before the numbers for the opening weekend came out. Plenty of movies have been said by its parent company that they will get a sequel and never do because of shit numbers, the most notable being Green Lantern. Ghostbusters will be no exception.
