Here's another video I watched with more info. Apparently the leaks were posted on Reddit but now the post and the account that posted it was deleted. There's probably some better stuff out there but I don't have time to look for it at the moment.

Legit question: Could Jon/Dany get Gendry legitimized and use him to usurp power from the Lannisters? I just don't really see a purpose for his return at all. It seems like they're basing out of Dragonstone this season, the seat of House Baratheon.

I have a hard time seeing the writers doing anything like that at this point. I think he's just gonna be thrown in so his story isn't left unresolved. Kind of like last season when Rickon/Benjen/the Greyjoys/the Tullys/the Freys/the Brotherhood/etc were randomly reintroduced but didn't really do anything for the story.

Also Dragonstone was originally the castle of the Targaryens as well.

That doesn't make much sense. Why would Dany want another competitor to the throne, assuming she even believes in his heritage?

The Lannisters are pretty much fucked anyway. They've turned nearly all of Westeros against them in the span of half a season which is spearheaded by a borderline insane Targaryen with dragons, vikings, and eastern armies.

Well the Stormlands might as well not even exist in the show at this point, so maybe they'll legitimise him as Lord of Storm's End to secure that area in favour of Dany. Then you got everything North & South against Westerlands & King's Landing.
