Game of Fanservice

At this point I've stopped caring about Game of Thrones having any interesting twists or political intrigue. It's all spectacle and omg fanservice now where everyone has a teleporter and magic plot armor. It's still fun to watch though. It's okay to be in it just for the ride, right? We still have TWOW to read... eventually.

I thought that show was well known for killing off important characters like its an episode of Super Jail. Same with all the abundance of sex and boobies. I don't know, I have the first season on BD but never bothered to put it in my disc tray and watch it.

I don't believe for a second that Jon assembles the SuperFriends to grab a wight from beyond the wall. They did that plot already, and it's clear Cersei doesn't give a shit about the Others. I also can't believe Dany splits her army/navy into 3 parts and decides to go on dragon adventures alone. It feels like they're rehashing the war of the five kings because they're out of source material.

I think most of us are still watching because we feel obligated to. The difference between s4 and s5 was the sharpest decline in quality I've ever witnessed in television. It perplexes me that the show manages to get more emmys and more critical acclaim than the earlier seasons did.

It's indescribable how many character changing events have been thrown at Jaime for him to just continue running in loops around his sister.

Why even bother giving him screen-time.

It's too late to drop out now. We've come this far.

Can't say the same about TWD though, I watched the first three seasons then dropped it.

Still, Hardhome was fucking spectacular and has yet to be topped.

The show still has its moments. Battle of the Bastards, The Door and the Winds of Winter were all last season, all were amazing episodes amid a season that had absolute flops as well. I don't doubt for one minute that the show can still provide some outstanding, entertaining television. I completely understand all the qualms about teleportation or rushing the plot or whatever but I find it hard to believe that someone would have to force themselves to continue watching just because they've come this far

It's great television and fun to watch but I stopped really caring about the story a while ago. I'm still enjoying it and I'm most likely going to see it through to the end but I feel like it even if it suddenly took a MASSIVE dip in quality I'd still keep watching just to see where it ends up, just like what happened to Sons of Anarchy.

Yeah it's honestly starting to dumb down the show and become an action movie about dragons and zombies. I'm not mad, just liked the intrigue and story of the original seasons more.

From what I've heard, they want to just be done with GOT at this stage to focus on their new project. They've been working on it for 10 years now and have been forced to write the plot themselves, which is something I'm sure they didn't think they'd be doing when they started.

Just find new directors ffs. Someone could've exploited the source material for five more seasons without it feeling milked.

No joke. They could have made 4 or 5 season just from AFFC and ADWD. By then TWoW would be out for them to make 2-3 more seasons from.

That many seasons would really be pushing it, especially considering how slow and uneventful most people consider those books, which is probably why they hardly even tried adapting them. There's not that much point stalling to wait on George. At this point, I'm starting to think we'll be lucky to get another one before the 2020s.
