What if someone worked the whole year towards getting a promotion and got it. They bettered themselves to achieve a goal that would be a net benefit to their life. I don't see how that would be basic carnal pleasure.
"Promotions." along with any other form of social hierarchy, are a form of systematic classist oppression and should not exist.
