Yavin 4 is short for the "Fourth Moon in the Yavin System". Yavin is the red gas giant seen in the various Star Wars works that feature the moon.

For a first date? That doesn't sound odd to you? I agree that just going to the movies is pretty bland, but that's why movies should only be half a movie date. I wouldn't be bothered by the idea of an exotic or exciting date if it wasn't the first one. I mean Jesus, you see a guy that's attractive and automatically want to travel to Rome with him?

As for the other instance, I'm sorry I'm not an unemotional robot that's made of stone when depressing thoughts enter my head, but that doesn't change the fact that shitty Tinder profiles are still shitty. Neither of those instances are here nor there in this thread, if you're going to be cryptic and vague in your dating profile, don't expect to get a lot of people swiping right for you.

Tinder is all about appearance. No girl is going to put her life story on her tinder bio when she's not going to swipe right on 75% of the profiles she comes across, keeping it vague is the best way. Makes the other person want to learn more about you, that's the fun part about getting to know someone.

I'm not asking for an extensive resume and past work experience followed by education level. But it'd be nice if more of them posted actual interests and hobbies. Even what I posted in the OP was fine until you find out it's just the most generic tip of the iceberg part of the subject. It's like people are afraid to share what interests they really have or to go in depth with somebody that may or may not be on the same level as them in terms of subject knowledge.

I for one would love to sit around all day and talk about Eva with a girl until I'm blue in the face, but if all they're going to talk about is how much they thought the new movies looked cool, I'm going to be turned off. I see "No hook ups" all the time on these apps but by being vague and cryptic, I feel that's contributing to a hookup atmosphere on these apps since no one wants to add any depth to themselves.

And at this point I realized you took my obvious joke thread and managed to make it serious. Thanks I guess....

In complete seriousness folks: I don't use Tinder.

I have Coffee Meets Bagel but I log in once in a blue moon and end passing about 90% of the matches not because of bad bios or anything, but because they don't seem like someone I would normally spend time with. I've had about four matches so far back when I was logging in regularly, but I can't give you a good estimate of how many I would have had if I hadn't passed through a lot of them. My view of an attractive person is definitely not the same as the average number of guys.
