Because:
-A Halo game every year
-Over saturation is bad
-Would spread out 343 too thinly

I agree, but save some of the more important deaths for the game. They're wasting all of their valuable plot points on a medium that maybe HALF the fans will read.

It's like in Halo 4. Instead of explaining to us what the fuck happened between the Covenant and Elites post-H3 they just throw us in the game "here you go guys you're fighting the covies again". C'mon.

If you didn't think J. Keyes' death wasn't that bad, you clearly never read Fall of Reach.

The Elites left the Covenant, which collapsed; something you'd know from playing the Bungie Halos.
 The Covenant you fight in Halo 4 aren't the same Covenant you fight in the OG trilogy + spinoffs.

How would you know the Covenant collapsed from the previous Halos? All they said was the the Elites left and the Prophets died IIRC.

The Covenant you fight in Halo 4 aren't the same Covenant you fight in the OG trilogy + spinoffs.

That is literally never explained even a little bit. The most we get is "they're not outfitted like standard military."
