Hayden Christensen May Grace your Screens Again

Quote
According to the latest rumor, Darth Vader could very well be making an appearance in a pair of upcoming Star Wars films.

According to Making Star Wars, not only is Darth Vader rumored to possibly be appearing in Rogue One, but in Episode VIII as well. "A team in the U.K. are soon heading to the U.S. to begin training Hayden Christensen for a Star Wars: Episode VIII appearance of some sort," the outlet has heard.

A "fully operational" chest piece for the villain as well as his iconic helmet are apparently being developed for Rogue One. As for Christensen's potential appearance in Episode VIII, speculation ranges from an Anakin-centric flashback to a full-blown resurrection of Vader.

Filming for Episode VIII is currently underway in Ireland and will reportedly feature Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker.

I'm still waiting for Jar Jar's return.

You know, in my opinion, Hayden looked pretty menacing when he turned to the dark side

After the old Star Wars EU, I wouldn't put it past them.

Oh for fuck sake, can we put this Vader meme to bed already?

He has a cool suit and a cool voice, that's literally the only reason why he's so popular. Inserting him as the centrifugal character of the prequels is precisely why they failed. There's nothing really interesting about him, or nothing interesting that Lucas could come up with anyway.

ANH portrayed him as a moderately high ranking general of the Empire, nothing more. He was surbodinate to a multitude of people (Tarkin) and openly mocked for being an ex Jedi. Not the supreme badass that the superseding films portrayed him to be.

The only reason he caught traction is because his aesthetics and persona struck a cord with a lot of people, and now we have a mildly interesting villain with an albeit cool vibe to him as the recurring antagonist, despite the fact that he has no particularly interesting character traits to ride home about besides his visual appearance.

Ranting aside, I'd rather they come up with new antagonists instead of relying on the formulaic approach of recycling old villains, (especially one as lacklustre as Vader) which has become all too the norm in Hollywood quite frankly.

It's not "RLM regurgitation." Vader is actually a pretty boring character at best sans his appearance.

Well they're not original. They fit all the typical archetypal tropes of the medieval fantasy genre, (dashing young knight, princess in distress, lovable rogue etc) but at least they all have memorable character traits besides le ebin brooding boogeyman.

If it happened, it would ruin the movie for me, even if he came back as a force ghost. And I'm against a flashback scene. I feel like it would ruin the pace of the movie. Some types of films they can work well for, but not Star Wars in my opinion. It's the type of movie that needs to be completely linear.

It could work. But only with little to no reference to prequel material.

Let Christensen have a part if they have a place for him but keep out all the bullshit that made everyone hate him.

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
The only reason he caught traction is because his aesthetics and persona struck a cord with a lot of people, and now we have a mildly interesting villain with an albeit cool vibe to him as the recurring antagonist, despite the fact that he has no particularly interesting character traits to ride home about besides his visual appearance.
Or it could be that he is a ruthless character that is the main antagonist in the film, but sure.

I think most fans would be okay with a Force-ghost appearance. That could be worked into the film very nicely, to be honest. With so much of Episode VII being focused on the villain's obsession with Vader, it'd be interesting to see the consequences in the next film, and perhaps what Anakin has to say.

i don't agree at all

luke, leia, and han are so cookie-cutter to the point of irredeemability

vader's character makes you want to know more about him, which is why i appreciate the prequels
