Just gotta learn to embrace challenges, discomfort, and growth

That's literally all it is.

You need a massive paradigm shift from instead of seeing all those hard things like - work, school, the uncertainty of the future, challenges etc - as horrible and out of your control, to seeing them as things in your life that will make you stronger and more prepared for bigger obstacles in your life. Things you can learn from and use to design your life how you want it.

"What do I want to do with the rest of my life" doesn't weigh heavy on my conscious at all because I physically cannot view it any other way than "I can do whatever I put my mind to".

This view is somewhat delusional but we have more than enough resources available to us to make it viable, much more than some child in an African village. They have little to no chance.

Idk how you could make the shift though and I doubt you would even want to. You are comforted by this view you have it gives you a lot of validation, nothing wrong with that tbh. But it'll continue make you suffer

I've gotten my first two jobs that way. They were shitty ones but they were still jobs. You have to show employers that you are eager to work, even if you aren't.

tbh i worked part time back in community college but had to quit cause i needed to drive to work, and 2 different campuses weekly. now that im in uni, work is slightly difficult to find cause most shit is taken. im in higher level courses and id rather not lose out on good grades so i can focus on myself and school without a need for work. im not sure how my lady friend manages her shit through being a waitress at dennys and studing bio and psych. depends on your mindset.

I guess I was pretty blessed in my early twenties. I went school, had three jobs and lived on my own. Shit was rough but I had a lot of fun.

Solid diet of ramen noodles and Coors light, plus whatever people would bring for parties. Four hours of drunken sleep a night with only Sundays off.

I miss those days, and my damn kittens.

Jive is right. It really is all about you and how you handle situations.

In order to grow, you need to face your problems head on. The other option is to just sit there and sulk, pointing fingers at others saying "they're the reason why I'm unhappy"

but don't be surprised when nothing changes for you if you continue with this mindset.

I give up my summer and work a lot like 40+ hours a week so I don't have to work during semesters, I feel like I'm giving up too much free time where I should be enjoying myself but I really don't want to work during term.
