This is the recent image of the Andromeda galaxy, yes?

They say that to display the full image you'd need about 60 something flat screen TVs. The amount of detail is incredible, and over 100 million stars are visible.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
we'll just be one giant hivemind

the best part is that Milkomeda will be an elliptical galaxy

spiral galaxies are so overrated
will spark a long period of high frequency star formation
well as long as we don't get flung out of the galaxy completely or end up near the super-massive black hole we'll be fine

the chance of two stars colliding is exactly 0

That's bogus. The chance is there, but it is almost nonexistent.

If our system got flung out of the galaxy, there really wouldn't be any adverse effects on it. Not like it matters anyway, because Earth will be uninhabitable without intervention by the time this happens.

But seriously, not sure if all those grainy bits when zoomed in are just the camera quality or they're even more stars. We'll probably get more detail as we get better and better telescopes (IIRC a new one was made recently), and as the galaxy comes closer to it's merging.

They're even more stars, alright. Go to the outer part of the galaxy, and you can see the individual stars much more clearly.
