I actually haven't started yet lol. My orientation for the park in Tuesday August 6th, but I can tell I'm probably really going to like it. I have several friends in MK so It'll be easier to do things with them before/after work. I play Yugioh with one of them in the cafeteria in the tunnels underground. Yeah, when I was working in food service I joined the union in charge of that then when I switched to merchandise it switched my membership to the union in charge of that business line. I'm honestly thinking of leaving it though, they take about eight bucks every week out of my paycheck and the only service they provide that I particularly care about is making sure there's a union representative with you when you have a meeting that could result any disciplinary action but their contract with the company requires one to be present anyways for anyone hourly regardless if they are with the union or not so I don't need to pay a fee for that. Furthermore I've been with this union for almost four years now and they kind of just flat out suck. They were the only one that didn't want to push for $15 an hour minimum in the company and that's because they didn't want to make any concessions that are honestly things that aren't that big of a deal like having a five minute grace period before your start time to clock in so you're not late instead of 15 and now having having to wait 12 months instead of 6 when transferring to a new location before being able to transfer to an exact same position. The first example really bugs me because the only reason that's an issue is cause we have lazy workers that treat their job as more of an annoying chore than anything so they stall having to come to work for as long as possible and don't give themselves enough travel time so they're rushing to clock in "on time" within seconds of being late. Everyone I know within even a sliver of work ethic shows up at least 10-15 minutes early anyways so the change to lowering the grace period doesn't affect them anyways.
