Just been in the cinema for eight hours because they shiwed all three Captain America films, with 3 beginning at midnight

Anyway, it's 3am and I've just got home so feel free to ask stuff about the film.

I'll be doing spoilers in tags for anyone that doesn't want to see them.

There could be an element of post-cinema bias here, but I easily consider it the best MCU film to date, and much better than any other hero movie I've seen. TDK comes close though.

Maybe. I was expecting them to follow the source material and kill Rogers off so Bucky could take the mantle of Captain America. So they subverted my expectations that way.

Does it have any actual impact on the MCU to live up to its namesake? I mean, does this actually change the relationships between characters or are they all back to their usual routine by the end?

Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, AntMan and Falcon are imprisoned in that big Shield prison thing at the end. The last shot is Steve breaking them out. Basically, Stark fucking hates Bucky and now him and Steve are on the run. Cap doesn't have his shield anymore. Also Cap and Agent 13 is now a thing which I just find really weird considering she's peggy's niece. Black Panther ends up taking Bucky and putting him into cryo (willingly) for reasons, so there's development there because BP originally wanted to kill Bucky for killing his dad.

Otherwise, I don't think there's much in the way of things. Tony and Rhody are still friends, Vision and Scarlet still seem pretty close (Though the last time we see them is in an airport), Captain still wants to help out with stark but we don't see much how things will change there (It's a one sided thing) so it's interesting to see where that will go considering RDJ wants to do Iron Man 4 now.

I'd say the biggest things come from Carter pretty much being kicked out of the CIA, half the Avengers basically on the run, General Ross being an all round dick, and Black Panther/ Spidey now being in action. The feelings in the group towards Stark have turned a bit sour but I don't think there's anything that won't be solved in the first twenty minutes of IW. Kind of like Von Strucker or Crossbone.

Bucky? Yeah. I can't see him hating Steve, he didn't kill his mother. And Rogers even sends him that letter via Stan Lee at the end so I can't imagine that particular grudge lasting long into Infinity War.

Crossbone stuff

Honestly, I'm still surprised they killed Crossbone off at the beginning. I was hoping they'd make him kill Rogers so that Barnes could take the mantle of Captain America, then bring Rogers back at the end of IW1/ beginning of IW2 with the Infinity Gauntlet or something. Feels like a massive waste of a really cool character tbh fam. I'm not disappointed with what did happen, just surprised - particularly because of the news they filmed a bunch of death scenes of different characters so any leaks wouldn't be trusted too much.
