A baccano is a loud noise. Hardly a fitting title for a show about 1920's American immigrants that happen to be immortal and caught up in the mafia.

Ruckus is probably the perfect name for the show.
a disturbance, loud obnoxious noise, and it is a word from the italian origin. If you can't extract the correlations, htne I really see no point in having this discussion with you.

Then we have Fate Stay Night

Does that mean that this show is about a fate that stays only one night? Something that happens once a blue moon? If so, it's a shitty name for it. Not very creative if you ask me.

You're missing something very important. You're not taking any of it literally and making a bunch of inferences and correlations. I'd agree that Baccano is indeed a perfect name for the show, but when you take it literally it makes no sense because it's not about loud noises.

Mostly for the same reason that Yanks/Westerners wear shirts with Kanji on them, it usually means absolute gibberish in Japanese same as most animus have gibberish/stylistic titles when done in english.

The AOT one specifically is because the people behind it have a pretty poor understanding of english in general so the 'official' translations for things tend to not actually match up to the actual translation. i.e
Shingeki no Kyoujin
goes somewhat literally into
Advance of the Large People (So Titans for a western word)

Advance:Shingeki is a military style term afaik, so when an army advances on a city it's attacking said city. Engrish it up a bit and you arrive at Attack on Titan, which is a pretty poor translation.
