I couldn't care less about dating them, asking girls out isn't the problem. It's them being with someone else that gets to me. Really unhealthy and bordering pathetic actually but i feel comfortable asking you guys for advices

That's a hard one to advise on since it's not neccessarily a habit, but more of an inherited trait.

I'd have no idea how a materialistic person would change that. Just like how I could never see myself getting pissed over material things or even really wanting them, or, how I'd change that.

The best bet is to rationalize things. Ask yourself the important questions. When you get envious or jealous, ask yourself why. You'll usually get a truthful answer back. How true it is, of course, depends on how afraid you are of reality, or acknowledging it.
