I THINK IMPROVISATION SOUNDS FUCKING COOL.
I can't begin to understand why someone would like him as a character, no matter how well they articulate their opinion.
I have already told you how improvisational music makes me feel, and why I like it.
You have absolutely NO CLUE what goes into studying improvisation, so you are incapable of forming an argument against it. You don't know what chord changes are, you don't know what an altered chord is, you don't know how to improvise
and I can tell you right now if you attempted to improvise (even if you were an accomplished piano player) it would sound like complete shit

I am officially never arguing with Verbatim about music again because it is frustrating and a waste of my time I could spend listening to music.
Quote from: Fuddy Duddy II on January 12, 2016, 09:40:29 PMinstead of playing notes that sound right when played together, the artist instead chooses to play whatever notes that he "feels" are right--and this, somehow, is supposed to make the music itself sound good, despite the fact that it doesn't--which is a contradictionThis misinformed, ignorant, thickheaded, mindless statement is a prime example of why I refuse to argue with you any further. If you want to continue arguing, I suggest you study up on music, as well as improvisation, and what makes something sound "good" as opposed to "bad".Your understanding of these concepts is ridiculously flawed, and every musician worth their salt will disagree with you completely.

Quote from: TR8Rshelf on January 12, 2016, 06:46:42 AMI wish more people would combine violins and classical instruments with rock like this band. Or this, for a more well known band.I love listening to those kind of combinations of intruments you don't really see in most music now. I guess it's because I enjoy listening to soundtracks, so a lot of that kind of stuff has started influencing my taste in 'regular' music, too.First song: I like this. Very ethereal, and the explosion towards the end is well-executed. The vocals sound great all throughout, and the visuals really helped. Not really something I'd care to give multiple listens, but I thought it was good.Second song: I like Muse. This is another good song, but I prefer some of their other songs, like Uprising and Knights of Cydonia. If you like violins in tandem with rock music, I'd recommend checking out Godspeed You! Black Emperor.YouTubeHere's the first song. Good stuff. 10/10 album. If you're intimidated by the length of it, don't worry--each track is divvied up into four or five movements each. It really gives you that soundtrack feel you're talking about.
