Events or periods in history you wish you attended

While reading alot of history books I find myself thinking I wonder what it was like been there.

What events or periods in history do you wish you were there?

Me: I've been reading alot into ships and ocean liners as an engineering standpoint. I wish I was able to sail on these to ship across the Atlantic.

* This was before commercial aviation was a thing.

If I could be a young adult in the 50's that would be great. Aviation was so accessible and war surplussed trainers and l birds were a dime a dozen, and surpluss krags, 1913's garands, mausers, arisakas, and carcanos were everywhere and never more than fifty dollars.

Man, a Stearman in my barn and a service rifle in every room. I'd be a happy man even if I caught the polio and died young.

Y'know I really appreciate XSEAN. For all the shit we fling around here it's nice to have a nice basic discussion like this every once in a while.

OT: I'd love to go to a Queen concert, see what Rome was like back in the day, or see one of the great castles of Wales in it's prime.

Something about the 60's interests me.

You still got the politics, the wars, the worry about the issues of the time, but there's some sorta freedom that isn't present today.

Maybe it's just down to thought processes at the times, or lack of technology, but times just seemed more worthwhile.

There's also the Space Race which is interesting, albeit at the time I reckon it was covered a lot less publucally than it is today.
