i don't think reddit will change much, it's fairly well established now they don't need to change anything to keep it going. as long as it stay's as it is it should be fine.

You're already seeing news sites turning it into 'muh misogyny and racism' narrative when the protest was sparked by a woman getting fired.

Meh. Will be interesting to see what direction they take from here. They're still going to want to monetize it hard. I think they overvalued the site when they bought it and are going to have a hard time making the cash they expect. If they aren't careful they are going to drive their userbase off in the process.

Some reddit employee got fired, but put a spanner in the works because she handled most of the high profile AMA's. Seeing as there was no warning or replacement of these duties, lots of sub reddits had to cancel their AMA's or organise it themselves somehow. This resulted in the blackout of the AMA subreddit as they relied on said employee, and rumours were spread that they were fired because theybrefused further monitisation of AMA's.

Other major subreddits joined in the protest, and then it became less about the fired employee and more about the lack of commincation between subreddits and the Admins of reddit by implementing crap they don't want, lack of support, etc and later was just "fuck Ellen Pao".

I could be missing parts, so anyone else feel free to fill in.
