So have I, fortunately, but I'm still able to look around and recognize that life isn't so well for a lot of people. You like your life--you wouldn't like most other people's lives. Especially with the knowledge you have now.

I've always known that many people don't live good lives. My father is fairly quick to remind me of that. I just don't see how the existence of suffering outweighs the good things in life like the complexity of our universe, the ecosystem, the short but magnificent story of civilized humankind, etc.

like winy said, altering your consciousness via drugs is an experience that, while there are risks associated with it, brings tangible, positive outcomes that sometimes could not be possible through a sober approach. one example of this is alleviating depression and increasing one's overall well-being through a psyilocybin trip.

I've stated a couple of times already that I have no problem with medical use of drugs. I still don't like it--when I'm sick, I prefer to just sleep it off--but generally speaking, no, if you have a legitimate use for the drug, I have no issue with that.

in my opinion, i think people who live a life of sobriety are simply missing out on some of the wonders that life has to offer, but i don't think any less of them as a person.

I think people who get high recreationally are missing out on the wonders of sobriety.

however, i believe that if you can safely consume a drug and have your life return to normal once the drug's effects have faded, it is worth the risk. just like how it is worth the risk to go skydiving, ride a rollercoaster, or any similar thrill-seeking activity. there are risks with every decision you make, and if someone can rationally lay out the positives and negatives, and find more weight in the positives, then they have made an informed decision and are being responsible. that's where moderation comes into play.

I think if you rationally lay out the positives and negatives of any drug, you'll find that sobriety will always be the better option if you're not looking for some kind of anti-depressant or something like that. That's an informed decision. That's a responsible decision. That's the right choice.

Not waking up dead the next day shouldn't be considered a "worth it" type of thing.

Well as far as the substance goes, I'd definitely say that acid was the most fun. They're less visual than people would have you believe, as the only change there is really that everything seems brighter since your pupils dilate. Dabs really just seem like a shittier version of acid tbh because they're less "floaty" if that makes sense.

Though on the flip side, I think the most fun I've had would be, ironically, when I was on dabs, since it was me and six of my closest friends all hanging out in a condo with a bunch of food and shit. It was a pretty nice experience.

How much acid did you take? Dabs and acid are NOTHING alike, and acid changes what the world looks like immensely.  You probably took a super small dose.

I took 200ug and everything was crazy. Yeah there were a ton of lights and stuff, but textures moved, faces distorted, and everything generally looked and felt more intense.

Tho if you're talking about seeing spiders and shit like that, yeah, that doesn't happen. Dabs aren't anything like acid, though. I've dabbed dozens of times. It's just like smoking a fuckton of weed.

Oh, well yeah, that happened to an extent. The intensiveness and distortion, at least. Light was the biggest part of it, really.

As for the dabs, iunno, I had a really odd experience on them. Weed doesn't do a lot for me so maybe it's just because I've never experienced being absolutely grounded by it, but it was a lot more like acid than weed. Time distortion was a huge thing, as I'd think about 15 minutes had gone by when it had really only been two or so, and lighting played a big part again. The largest difference was that I'd see myself in an entirely different spot if I looked in a different direction just because the lighting was different.

And music was fucking amazing.

that's weird, when i dropped acid i was experiencing some very intense, geometrical visuals, as well as seeing everything as brighter and more vivid. granted, i dropped one tab on the beach with some close friends at like 2 in the afternoon, so being around all of that nature could have enhanced my visuals greatly. i'm surprised you lump in dabs and acid as similar substances, though, because dabs are just concentrated THC and the same high you'd get from most weed. my friend makes his own oil so i have a decent amount of experience with that.

...but i still consider my acid trip on the beach to be one of the most profound experiences of my life, i learned so much about myself and the world around me that day it's crazy. something that i would never take back for the world.

that's more or less what I experienced, but we put ourselves in some crazy situations, so it was more action packed than mind opening
