This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
Quote
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, or cognitive stimuli.

It's kind of like a euphoric, tingling sensation that spreads across (parts of) your body. Apparently the science on it is undecided, but there's strong anecdotal evidence for the phenomenon's existence. It can only really be described as a kind of non-sexual orgasm that happens in response to some kind of stimulus (as above); I never knew it was controversial, I've had them really quite regularly for as long as I can remember.

I honestly never even knew people didn't feel this. I just thought it happened to everybody when they had some kind of pleasurable stimuli.

I mean... I guess I do have it in some ways. A particularly weird one: When I was younger, I liked to lightly file my nails on sharp/thin objects. Like... sheets of paper, or knives. Not to clean them--it just... felt good. I don't really do this anymore, though.

The whispering just kinda makes me uncomfortable.

I find it rather annoying. Most people seem to get it from mundane things; I don't. Whispering, ambient sounds, et cetera don't really induce any kind of tingling response in me.

I find some noises to be very satisfying, but I don't get any tingling.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
I get it from certain music I like at the chorus point, but I can't get it from the asmr videos online.

They're nice videos to relax to sometimes, but they don't do anything compared to Melancholy Hill.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
Going by that theres a bunch of songs that trigger ASMR in me <.<

I dont get tingly from anything else.

Well theres pretty much a whole genre of music that does it.

I get this too. Certain parts of Cries a Girl by Buck 65 makes this happen.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Yeah man. Got into following a lot of asmrtists on youtube after finally figuring out that it's not something just wrong with me, lol. I'd always feel it big time when I'm getting a haircut and they break out the clippers around my right ear/back of my neck, then to a lesser extent on the other side.

I think the side difference has something to do with my high freq. deficiency in my left ear.
