Do you think the US has imperialistic tendencies?

From a militaristic and territorial perspective, do you think we have tendencies that represent that of an empire? Just a random thought.

Eh. The farthest thing you could say is Manifest Destiny, past that we have a few territories but not enough to say we're an empire.

I'd say Great Britain was the last true empire

The last imperialistic tendencies the US had was when they invaded and annexed kawaii Hawaii back in the 50's. Like BC said, Great Britain was the last real empire.

Empirical doesn't mean what you think it means. But no, America has had significant opportunity for imperialistic aggression since WWII, but it just hasn't happened.
