Personally though, if it came down to it, the cast iron frying pan behind me which I obscure would be better. It has much more weight than the cleaver, and a better handle. Plus it's got more surface area, making it handy for blocking somebody else with something like a knife or bat.

Although, the cleaver's got the scare factor. I remember using it, only once on some folks who were snooping around the building at night. Heard them talking and poking around, and when they tried the back door they stepped in to me sitting there with the cleaver. Told them to get the fuck out and they left pretty fast.

I don't own any weapons, but I would definitely like to own some guns, swords, and bows, unfortunately I simply lack the money for such things at this time.

Although I've never seen it, and not many people have been around me for the rare times that I'm ever visibly angry, but apparently I've got a really fucking mean face when it comes up. That's just me pissin' around with some raised eyebrows for fun. Here's hoping that face never comes out, nor do I have to use the cleaver for anything other than cutting pizza.

Thats labor costs and craftsmanship. Its due to details, steel, even the sheath. Now if its a blank or forged thrn thats gonna make the difference in money sometimes.

I think the main factors in the cost are the fact that it's locally made (in Victoria, Australia, which in case you don't know, things are expensive here unfortunately), and that it uses higher quality materials. Not all knives by this maker are as expensive, this just happens to be one of the higher end ones.
