The religious aspect aside, do you like this time of year? All the songs, consumerism, shallow messages, advertisements and stuffing your face?

Like, I get it, I do. People need a break from work and shit, especially during the depressing weather. And they use Christmas as an umbrella excuse for whatever they have in mind. Even though I get why Christmas has become what it is today, I still don't like the shit that comes with it. It's so fucking fake it hurts.

Why can't we just have a 2 week general holiday instead? Like I don't even care about the religious part of it, it's the fucking shoving it down our throats for 2 months in advance that bruns me out. Hearing  Jingle Bells in November/early december on the radio makes me want to fucking paint the walls with my brains holy shit.

I honestly don't see a lot of this. The only time I really see it is if I go into town.

I don't listen to radio, I rarely watch television with adverts, I use adblock, and none of my friends/family send half-arsed shallow messages.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm getting at though. Just drop the whole Christmas charade and replace it with a 2/3 week holiday with no purpose behind it. So everyone can just chill

I like buying stuff and seeing family, I get to spend time with almost my whole family over dinner, its probably one of the things I look forward to most in life.

I like everything about it except the commercialism, people's political correctness, and the fact that ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas is now the same 5 specials over and over, and then a week of Christmas episodes of their shitty shows.

I'm gonna be honest, I haven't cared much for Christmas for the past few years. But this year I do. I haven't seen most of my my family in months due to uni, and have my diet have been fairly simple. It's gonna be great to meet my family and eat properly for a while. I couldn't care less for the whole presents shtick, though.

i love christmas. most people start the festivities too early though. i really only get 'into the season' when its the week of christmas or 7 days before.

It's great, especially when i don't go to Mexico. I enjoy most of this time of year's aspects
