Just a little thing I thought of looking at Sandtrap's thread. Since you have many users who use Fahrenheit, and many who know Celsius. So how many people here would know both (and can convert between the two obviously)?

I don't know Fahrenheit, in the rare cases I need to convert one to the other I just use Google.

I'm Irish.

Spoiler
And mistaking my country of origin is the least that can happen.
Example:
Elegiac creeped on Tru a few times before he found out Tru was male.

Oh shit. Would have not have guessed that. Was thinking you were a Canadnigger or Austalifag. I've read some interesting things about Ireland. Namely about the status of the Irish language in it.

So is it true that most Irish people just speak English for the most part? Kiyo doesn't really count as Irish since she lives in Northern Ireland.

And lol to Elegiac's story. What a shocker coming from him. LOL

-32 x 5/9.
There's an easier way I can teach you to do without requiring a calculator or that stupid goddamn equation.

Most people speak English here.
It's not rare to find someone who speaks the Irish language, but truly fluent speakers are only found in certain areas of the country, usually along the west coast.
The education system here is balls, most people come of school hating Irish.

And yeah, Kiyo doesn't count.

Doesn't really need a calculator though. 0.5 is close enough to 5/9 that it's fine to use in everyday situations.
That doesn't count, nigger faggot.

That wasn't even my secret method anyways.

This is the only time... no wait... no this is the perfect example of why I hate being raised in America....
I don't know celsius and I don't understand how to translate between the metric system and then America's fucking idiot purposeless standards of the retards.
It makes me angry that America tried to be special and they are just fucking chimp idiots.

Sorry this topic makes me angry because America is stupid and sucks in the educational system... and so many other systems...

Neat little overlooked trick.

0 C is 32 F.

When using Celcius, to find out Farenheit, add or subtract 32, and vice versa between the two scales.

Now ya'll can use both scales of measurment and not be confused. Tuddah.

Nope. Nope nope nope. I forgot something. I forgot a part of the trick.

30+32=62

Logically you'd think that would be 62 F then. But it's not.

30 C is 86 F.

I'm missing something here.

Yeah, the problem is that a 10 degree change in Celcius is an 18 degree change in Fahrenheit.

Like, I just have all the conversions from -100 to 100 (Celsius) in intervals of 5 memorized (since you'll very rarely need to go beyond -100 and 100)

Okay I'm really bad at math and I start to zone out when numbers join in the conversation...
So 10 degree change in F is an 18 degree change in C?
I don't think I'm getting this.
They "taught" me the metric system in elementary school briefly but after that they were like NOPE too bad you just don't get that knowledge.

-40 C is -40 F (it's where the Celcius and Fahrenheit intersect)
-30 C is -22 F
-20 C is -4 F
-10 C is 14 F
0 C is 32 F
10 C is 50 F
20 C is 68 F
30 C is 86 F
40C is 104 F

So when the value in Celsius goes up or down 10 from 0, Fahrenheit goes up or down 18 from 32.
