At seemingly random moments you stop and realize one day you're not going to be around?
It's eerie as hell.

Latest one I had was when I woke up last week and just stared at my hands for a solid five minutes in pre-dawn semi-darkness.
You guys? I'm aware it's common for humans to contemplate mortality, I'm just curious how you deal with it.
Eventually I'm able to calm myself down and proceed, usually by thinking about what I'm trying to accomplish.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
I...occasionally go deep in thought on how people close to me would react to that.

Like, i kinda enjoy the thought of them being in misery

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
Do you ever realize there was a time when you weren't around? That's a thing too. If you're not bothered by that, why are you bothered by the latter?

Yeah, the things I'm actually interested in aren't going to be around for decades if not hundreds of years.
Living in an actual space age where the new frontier is our solar system or beyond just... I can't describe how beautiful that is.
My future profession involves aging research so I can get around this issue.
And I'm making it more difficult. If I get results though... It's all worth it.

Yes, I was having trouble sleeping last night because I was thinking about that. It usually starts with "I can actually die" it sounds stupid just saying it but...yeah.

"Ornate chandeliers suspended from a vaulted ceiling lit the spacious chamber; Jack tilted his gaze overhead and noticed how far away they were.  His thoughts wove around those bright lights, like a dance of ether masses spiraling in precious unison. Why must we try to clutch desperately for the mere threads of this world when we can clasp onto a tapestry of untold magnificence beyond this plane of existence?"
Yes, although it's not eerie for me. It is really nothing to fear.

Hmm...
Since I won't exist as a consciousness once I die, I don't worry about it, because I won't even be capable of realizing I'm dead once I am.

So, from my point of view, I'll always be alive. That's pretty much how I deal with it.

A friend of mine explained a similar viewpoint.
What scares me more than dying directly is missing out on a vast range of futuristic experiences.

You live in a period in time where there is constant war, strife, lack of education, poverty, hunger, and corruption. It is a time where many people are just trying to live their lives while all this happens around them. You have the choice to be one of those many people, or you can choose to deal with these issues and ensure that time period you dream of becomes a reality, because if your generation doesn't do anything about this world and just keeps dreaming of the stars, then you will never get there.

There is nothing boring about this.

I don't know... from my point of view, non-existence is infinitely better than existence. There's no strife or struggle when you're dead...

I'm interested to see how I go, though. I really want to fuck with people when I get close. Y'know, if I live to be 100 or something, I'll just make up some excuse why. Like, claim I ate a pine cone everyday, just to fuck with people.

Yes, when it happens I always think about what my last few seconds of life will be like, when I'm gasping on the floor feeling my organs fail.

I use alcohol to put me back together, it works moderately well.

Sometimes. The other day I passed by myself in the mirror and for some reason my brain went blank trying to recognize myself. I thought "This is my vessel. This is how I experience the world around me". Kinda weird

That's part of my internal struggle in a sense. I've gotten used to thinking about death as beneficial release and it's making it difficult to do the things I want despite me having clues as how to progress.

I'd say I shoved the pinecone up my ass. That should result in some butthurt.

People are always going to fight each other and hate, but people are also  always help each other and love. What do you gain by giving up or doing nothing? What do you have to lose by experiencing and making the most out of the life you've been given, and make sure that your children and grandchildren will be able to go where you've always wanted them to be?

How would that make it difficult to do things? When I think about life, and it's inherit meaningless, I find it hard to do anything I don't enjoy (this is why I'm lazy, because I'd rather be using my time doing something I enjoy.) Most of my life is spent trying to find things I enjoy, but I dislike a great deal of things...
[Kinda ranting but I thought it was relevant to your train of thought.]

I have no intention of ever having children. When I'm dead, that's it. No legacy for me.

...That sounded really selfish in context. But I guess I am, a bit.
