Traits can't be inherently desirable or undesirable, because everyone has different desires.

Most people would find any kind of obsession undesirable, but it's not some factual thing like you're making it out to be.

I've walked past anime club gatherings at our school. They look like zombie communions from the outside. Like, if you combined the will to live of every attendee there it couldn't rival the total at a cemetery.

If that's the kind of thing you mean by "obsession" then I don't think any intelligent being would find that hot. Except the 30+ people surely boiling inside of that room of course.
