Wouldn't make any sense. Rex is biologically 56 at the time of Rebels, with him having existed around 25 years by then. Rebels takes place five years before ANH, and thus eight years before ROTJ. He'd be in his seventies or eighties biologically by ROTJ. I'd consider retconning him into ROTJ to be nonsensical. The guy who created the Reddit/Tumblr post with that image was hopefully joking. Because Rex being alive, let alone fighting, doesn't make sense when he's that old by that time.

Because Rex being alive, let alone fighting, doesn't make sense when he's that old by that time.Rex was not a first batch clone, as we see clones much older than him during The Clone Wars. I think it would be safe to assume the earliest the clone batch Rex might be apart of would be the one we see during Episode II. These guys.So Rex would be around 8-9 years old (about 16-18 biologically). The Clone Wars in new canon no longer last 3 years, but instead around 5 years or so. Ahsoka was 14 when she became Anakin's padwan, and 17 when she was expelled, in which we still had about a year and a half or so before ROTS. So by the time ROTS rolls around, Rex should be 13-14 years old (26-28).15 years later, Season 2 of Rebels begins, putting rex at 28-29 (56-58). 10 years after that we have the Battle of Endor, putting Rex at 38-39 (76-78). So yeah, Rex is probably too old at that point, but it's also Star Wars. Who knows how good a genetically modified soldier can be at that age. Just though the picture was cool as all.

I have a feeling it's going to be that alien girl Vader used to have as an apprentice.
