Disrespectful wedding drama

Well, one of my buddies is getting married in two weeks. It's a rather small wedding and small children are not invited.

Well, a mutual friend of ours recently had a baby. The baby is 4 months old now, obviously falling into the "no small children are invited" category. So, instead of leaving the baby with her mom/his in-laws for the night [who live 3 minutes from them, btw], they insist on bringing the child to the wedding, a 90-minute drive each way - no ifs, ands, or buts.

This will be interesting...

Weddings are boring for pretty much anyone under 20 years old. Whiny little children can ruin the whole thing, especially a small ceremony.

If the bride and groom detail there are no children invited, you don't show up with your kid. That's a dick move.

I didn't allow small children at my wedding, either. It's pretty douchey to go against the request of the bride and groom, and if someone had brought their kid, my ushers wouldn't have seated them. They'd be asked to wait outside of the sanctuary until the ceremony was over.

That's the thing - they moved 30 miles away from here to live down the street from her parents so they could help with the kid.
