Fuck I just had to replace my car's PCM. Gets better gas mileage now I'd say.
Quote from: Ryle on September 10, 2015, 11:21:26 AMyeah but the engine needs oil or it can't moveI replaced that periodically myself fam. The bigger issue would've been it crystallizing (already happened before, so this time could've ended up making the engine completely unusable) or another issue developing and growing, where an inspection during any one of the four required services would've picked it up.

When I was on a trial Apprenticeship, I was surprised at the troubleshooting procedure. They plugged this PDA thing (made by the Car Manufacturer, in this case, Honda) into the car, and it displayed certain error codes. Half of them just meant you had to wipe the code and move on, as nothing was actually wrong. I was expecting it to be an "open the bonnet, grab a spanner, and go wild" type deal.
so you didn't go 40,000km without servicing your car
Computers suck. And they're called wrenches, you fucking bong.
Yeah, I'd never do that
Other than the occasional oil change and tire rotation, my brother stripped the transmission in my Camry. Luckily, I have a long lasting warranty.
No benefits whatsoever, and a handful of problems

My uncle is a mechanic, so I obtain hella low prices when it comes to the usual servicing. Aside from that, I had to pay $100 for the transmission replacement.
Adventure?
