I didn't need to be taught, it's a pretty damn basic idea.

1. Put shaving cream on face
2. Take razor
3. Put on face
4. Shave hair off

I'm still not sure if there's a technique to it that i'm missing, i just get some water on a cheap blade and try not to cut my face.

Just shave in the shower. Scrap off some hair shampoo, run it on your face, and viola~!

No need for shaving cream and no cuts if you're careful.

Shaving in the shower is actually the best idea. The steam opens your pores which reduces the chances of infection and ingrown hairs. Also yeh if you have a continuous flow of water then you don't need shaving cream.

By myself. Never had an issue. Only cut my thumb when I ran it sideways ovee my thumb. Nothing deep but it hurt.
