If you can output video from the jack on the card (and not on the mobo) I think it should be fine?

Get MSI Afterburner or EVGA PrecisionX and monitor your GPU temp in the future. You really don't want your card to exceed 85°C. I know that in PrecisionX you can also control the RPM of your GPU fan(s) as the temperature of your card rises.

First of all, make sure that your machine is using your GPU and not the integrated graphics chip on your motherboard.
