I haven't gotten a new TV since 2006, so my stuff is pretty outdated. Well it's a basic 720p TV but still, I need to upgrade. I was looking at the Vizio 4K TV, but I don't know much about the TV game so I was looking for suggestions.

Oh did I tell you guys?

I found this TV at the dump and it looked nice so I took it home to see if it worked and it did so now I have a 42 inch HDTV lol

And I recommend Samsung

Never owned one but the one my friend has is sweet

The fact that I have a Samsung TV from 1998 that still functions in pristine condition is a testament to quality.

A 4K TV at this point is pretty pointless and expensive

The Vizio is just $600 though. Seems like I might as well.

Gaming, multimedia like netflix and stuff, and regular TV watching. Basically everything.

Make sure you get a tv with low input lag

How many Hz?  And Vizio's color quality isn't the best in the industry.

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
I have a 32" Vizio TV. It has Netflix, Youtube, Pandora, and all that other good stuff.

I got it for around $220.

I'll have to take a look at the TV in person, but if I recall correctly samsung and LG have the best TV's in terms of picture quality. That Vizio is 120 Hz.

Damn. My old TV cost me around $500 and is 26 inches without any of that. But then again it was pretty good quality back then so I can't complain.

Do you even have anything that can show at 4K? Because if not, then it's completely pointless.

I said the same thing nine years ago about not getting a 1080p TV. Wouldn't it make sense to just get it now while I'm shopping for a new TV instead of opting for a 1080p? 4K content is sort of scarce but I might as well future proof.

4K TVs will drop significantly in price when 4K becomes the standard in a few years.
Get a good 1080p TV for a lot less.

I guess you're right. I'll just buy a pax 2 instead and wait on the TV.

Actually I might just get the Vizio and call it a day. If something better comes out I'll sell it or something. But I plan to keep it for at least 5 years.
