Have your first time at 45, if it meant a lot to you and your happy with the person then that's all that matters. Our generation kind of uses sex as social currency so its not really a big deal, just as long as it means the same thing to both people, and you don't expect a relationship just because you fucked once.

And that's the downfall of current society. When everyone is rushing to experience something and not give a shit about it, even if the other party was under the impression it meant more or was going towards a relationship is why it has slowly become less valued.

I would never do a one night stand, couldn't do it. I genuinely couldn't bring myself to do that, and I've been tested on that. Every person I've had sex with I did it going in with the intention of dating. Only once did I have sex out of dating, and at the end it culminated in a relationship, and that one time is my current relationship.

I don't agree with casual sex, but I don't look down at someone for taking part in it. Maybe I'm traditional in that sense, but to me it's a matter of respect. If I have sex with someone, it's because I value them more then sex. If I value someone just for sex, then I won't do anything with them, and move on. Just not something I can operate with.

Either way, my point was to just wait. Wait until your with someone you actually value, rather then rushing it and regretting. It's meant to be special. No one should be berated for taking years to make it happen.

It really depends on what it means to you.

If you feel like sex is a big emotional thing then that's how you and your partners will choose to go about it.

Really I don't think it has anything to do with modern society or anything like that, because eccentric people have been throwing orgies for millenia.

Sex carries different implications and different consequences for everyone, and people will do with that what they will.
