The only thing I sort of like about 343's take on Halo is fleshing out MC.

However, I wouldn't take the exact route they have in developing him as a character.

I wonder if Frank hides any sort of guilt or remorse for killing Halo like this? Openly claiming they weren't interested in making new games for Halo fans, pushing the "bleeding edge hyper-competitive ranked MLG" experience when Halo started as a couch-shooter, taking away features that made Halo what it is. I feel that they genuinely (but falsely) think that they're making Halo better. I don't know whether to be angry, sad, or both.

I feel like people are forgetting some of the huge issues we had with Bungie too

It's like nostalgia clouds everything over time. Everyone had huge issues with Reach at launch. Still do with the campaign.

Halo 4 flopped terribly on multiplayer, though I think the campaign was the strongest narrative since Halo 2 (Halo 3 had the best ending if you ask me). Halo 5's MP, while still looking horribly aesthetically to me, easily returns to the more arena like shooter.

It was beginning to show that Bungie began to stop caring about Halo a short while after ODST, but what can you really do when Microsoft is constantly breathing down your neck to release more games.

I love that this video is nothing more than blind childhood nostalgia. Yes 343 has their problems, but so does Bungie. The first half half of Halo 3's campaign is pointless due to how random it is, we still have no idea what the Arbiter was doing during it, despite being in three games the MC is still no different character wise than what he was in Halo CE. Then there's Reach which is even worse. Every level but two is completely random and the characters Nobel team is just shit, armor abilities which people complained about and the MP maps being shit compared to Halo 3's. 343 did try to make up for a story and character development. Also for weapon damage if it wasn't for 343 we would still be playing a one gun game.

Yet it's nothing like any other Halo we've played. I get that you're supposed to add more stuff with each subsequent game, but it kind of went overboard with Halo 4 and 5 takes that and revs it up to 11. It doesn't feel like a Halo game anymore, and Req packs is by far the most horrible thing that has ever happened to any Halo game ever.
