Couldn't vote today

Apparently, signing up for the selective service no longer jointly registers you to vote. No one ever told me this.

Take that as a warning/reminder, I guess. Though I'm sure it's just a state thing.

That's how my dad registered. When he had to sign up, he was registered to vote as well, automatically. So when I turned 18, he told me that I didn't have to bother registering--because once I signed up for the draft, they'd take care of it themselves.

Apparently, it doesn't work like that anymore. Maybe it was just a thing in MI, but it's not even a thing anymore.
