actually a tough choice

the only canvas shoes I wear these days are a pair of Tom's for around the house or just when I'm in a hurry, but back in the day I alternated between converse hi-tops and vans authentics pretty frequently

I picked converse though because even though I think that I'd be more attracted to a pair of authentics today, I definitely owned a lot more chucks through the years, maybe even twice as many pairs

ive never worn converse but vans have been my go to since like middle school

I've worn Converse but not Vans. Converse become uncomfortable quickly and the outsoles are too flat for my liking. I would imagine that Vans are not much different in that regard. Plus I've never really been a fan of the style.

i think i always associated converse with “alt girls” from middle school and vans were the less socially acceptable skateboard shoe in middle school.

no disrespect, that’s just how things were at my middle school.
