Chinese Cartoon Thread [Anime stuff]

It's a brilliant show.

Lol i wish i knew of this sooner, maybe i could have watched them all over the summer break... i still have 2 weeks left, it's sorta kinda somewhat still possible to be caught up

Yeah, there was a time when I could easily binge watch anime, I got through Steins;Gate in one sitting, same with Baccano! and a few other things.
Now it's a struggle to binge.

Tones I can stomach, HOTD levels I cannot. On par with Kancolle or worse/better?

On par I suppose, there's a boob grab in episode 1 of Overlord, with Rokka it's just flashy character design so far.
Nothing to be worried about, for both, the fanservice is a lot less than HOTD.

There's one that I watched recently at the behest of a friend I haven't seen in over a year, one I dismissed almost immediately despite his insistance and wouldn't have given a second though, and I would have been severely disappointed if I had.

And that's Witchblade.

For a borderline-porn anime based on a borderline-porn comic whose only selling point is scantily-clad women duking it out, Witchblade has one of the most entertaining stories (for anime anyway) that I've seen in a while. It's bizarrely good. It doesn't even have the right to be as good as it is. Everything from the animation to the characters (and the development thereof) to the dub acting are all spot-on.

Usually I'm pretty good at discerning the bullshit from the diamonds, but it was one of the few hidden gems that pleasantly surprised me.

Probably a bit too haram for my tastes but I do know about the hidden gem stuff. There have been a few that I've gone into it thinking 'ehhhhhhh see how it goes' and then gone 'holy shit that was brilliant' >_>
Sadly it's been a bit of a while since I've seen a new 10/10 but there is always a chance that the next one I watch will join the others in the best shows category.

The fanservice doesn't push the plot into the backseat, I assure you, it's more just there, while the story is happening. I tended to forget about it until the boobage actually came up in the dialogue, but obviously I can't speak for anyone else.

Well that's somewhat good to hear, but considering I'm a ridiculous starch-arse over anything remotely lewd if it goes from a bit of implied stuff or the odd bewb joke to anything more, I tend to switch off/drop it.

Oh. Then you probably won't enjoy it as I did, since every major adult woman has at least a G-cup.

But after the fourth or fifth time I watched it, it stopped hurting and now I just feel cold when it's on rather than ready to curl up into a ball and die. It's been about two months since I last watched it, so I think that's time for round 9 <_<

If I make it to 10 without an heroing, I think I win a prize.

Though the OVA wasn't that bad the two times I watched it.

I drank a lot because of that show.

I look at it as practice for the future. In the same way I may have to help perverts find the righteous path again, I might have to help shrieking autists to be less socially awkward. (I mean that in the affectionate sense obviously)

yep i feel the same way, in late 2013/early 2014 i was speeding thru anime left and right boom boom boom

now i rarely watch anime besides airing ones, even during breaks/vacations

edit, i just checked, and jesus, thru out this entire 2 month break, i only watched ONE that wasn't airing (neptunia)
