In second grade one of the teachers had the bright idea to expose us to this "kids" book for our reading curriculum. They received dozens of parent complaints. I still hear that scratchy voice in my head on solitary nights years later.

I remember flipping through channels as a kid accidentally, before I learned the full extent of how to use a remote. I ended up bumping into the final few minutes of Aliens.

I remember being scared shitless as the Queen made her appearance and then ended up wanting to watch it because Ripley started beating the shit out of it with the yellow exo-skeleton loader.

And, naturally, just a few seconds of watching Pennywise the clown from IT was spooky as fuck.

God damn I saw a 30 second trailer and I was jumping at shadows for years, although I think that was compounded by the shop I went into the day after having a god damn life size cut-out of the jiangshi creeping around a corner.

Gollum did the same thing for a few years too, that ended when one night in the middle of a precursor-lucid dream I grabbed the little swine and broke his back on my knee and chucked him off khazad-dum <_<

I had a birthday cake when I was 3 or 4 in the shape of a triceratops with treestars all around it (icing), ahh that was a great day. Land Before Time was my favourite, I watched the VHS until it stopped being a thing and we had DVDs instead <_<
