I think the success of Rogue One will determine the fate of the Anthology movies. They'll make them regardless though. Basically Rogue One is destined to succeed if it has a good cast of original characters.

Episode VII made 2 billion at the box office and Star Wars is now owned by Disney

What's wrong with Star Wars being a once a year phenomenon? If people enjoy it, and it is made with care, why is a movie every year bad? I also read the comics, novels, watch Rebels, so I'd consider myself more than the average fan. Having a SW movie every year is like a childhood dream.

The idea itself is not bad
I would love to get a well crafted Star Wars movie every year

But we live in the real world
Where one good movie results in mindless sequels that spends more money on marketing and getting people to buy a ticket rather than making a good movie
And you can bet your ass Star Wars is prime franchise potential

So hopeful but doubtful

There are only three movies announced so far, and if you look at Marvel, a comparable Disney-owned franchise as an example, I think they're going to do right by it.

Not every Star Wars movie is going to be great. I'm fine with that. But I guarantee you some of them are going to be total gems. The universe is filled with generations of stories to tell. I want to see them.

And damn it, I'll buy a ticket just to get that pure shot of nostalgia every time the Lucasfilm logo gleams, and we get the familiar "A long time ago..."

Oh and this trailer sucks b t dubs.
