"To Europa to find ET life".....NASA should be severly defunded - to spend billions going to a far off world, only to come back with "microscopic organisms trapped in rock" is STUPID.
They wouldn't tolerate that on a regular job/career.

If you are making no inroads in your research, they strip the funding - simple as that.

That said...NASA "NEVER SAID" that they ARE going to bring back the ET that we are all expecting. It is merely 'implied' under a false assumption, that that is what they are referring to, when really, ET could mean a deceased micro organism.

Okay, so technically they do find life; only it's long deceased, housed in a rock, and is depressingly NOT humanoid.
So what, you ask.
Think about it this way: Would you afford me the luxury of billions of dollars of spending money to KEEP GOING out, decade after decade after decade to.....bring home 'tree bark'???No, you would strip me of funding so fast that I couldn't blink faster.

So, the gigantic elephant in the room is "What has NASA been doing with all that money for decades?"
Do you even realize that the average person has to do everything short of jumping thru hoops of fire just to acquire grants to fund their schooling and here NASA is, being funded to do these big budget projects that are Top Secret.

Let's say that you are even LUCKY enough to get a grant....and let's say, hypothetically, you don't use the money for the purpose that you said. You could be in big trouble. Well, what about NASA, who decade after decade, makes these statements but, in truth, uses their enormouse budget for clandestine purposes?
