- Telling Lies - Paul Ekman
- ORAS guide
- Psychopathology 2nd Edition
- A collection of old books on the british empire/nature

[Planned purchases]

Basic Kanji Book: Volume 2

[Highlight]
When I was clearing out someone's rubbish, taking it all to the tip I salvaged a few things <____<
Among the rubble was a spent Bofors shell, which is going to be polished up into a neat little ornament. Two big mothafuckin geodes, sliced and polished into a beautiful MINERAL display. And a 1908 king james bible e.e

It took me a moment to twig that this is the first book that I've obtained that is older than a hundred years. Next closest is my 1921 Rudyard Kipling poem collection thing <.<
It's got handwritten notes in it and everything, it's really quite a beautiful old book. Gilded pages and what looks like leather binding (unfortunately :/) but it would be heretical to remove the cover from it >.>

So flud, for the bibliophiles among us, what books have you obtained recently? <.<

Found it in my grandpa's basement.
For fiction I have Bright Lights, Big City and A Dance With Dragons.

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
I can't remember the last time I read a book.

Last book I bought was Fahrenheit 451. I had checked out a copy at the library and felt compelled to purchase it after reading it.

Highly prophetic, and profound.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.

The imperial life of the emerald city

I have 'Into the wild' ready to read straight after that. I'll make my next purchase before I start into the wild, although I don't know what to get.

- Telling Lies - Paul Ekman
What is it about (pls no obvious answer like it's about why people lie and blablabla)?

Once you're done, can you share some of the cool knowledge on this site? I too am interested in the work of Paul Ekman, but I'm a poor student who can't afford a book right now... OH WAIT A MINUTE, I DON'T LIVE IN AMERICA!

I can afford the book, but I'm currently saving up for something else, namely the Ekman face suite.

For your thanks I'll give you some of my information, but I don't see a point in writing it down right now if you're not gonna post it... Yes I am aware of that I'd be raising my chances, but y'know, you might do it without the information because you don't think it will help you, and you like being helpful.

In conclusion: Please share what the book says about the signs such as a different blink rate and then presumed normal blink rate after the lie, a change in voice pitch, et cetera, et cetera.

If you want me to contribute to the thread, I will have to get an affirmation from you, and you requesting I do so.
