One of the biggest mysteries of the film. Also gun hand? Cleaver? Masks that all somewhat resemble Vader? Really want to know what Ren is. Or means. A person? They're all going to be something, Ren.

Knights could be just a name for the group.

Even with a bunch of them using non-lightsaber weaponry they could still use the force in other ways. Thinking about that now it actually seems really appealing.

Likely. And from the looks of it not much in it. Hopefully they are other students of Luke and that they were led astray for different reasons.
