I'm surprised more people don't portray dragons as allies and philosophers. That's something I've always found interesting about them as an apex predator. How does that change their perspective?

So many wasted opportunities. DragonHeart is a good example of this, he's "evil" or whatever, then becomes an ally.

And ironically the Dragons are what people seem to like the most about these films that have them in it....

I agree with that notion so much that it's part of the story I'm writing... Involving dragons.
They're usually attached to moral binary structures and depicted as evil antagonists. It just doesn't allow for a lot of complexity. I want to write dragons as individuals and delineate the context of their associations designating social labels.

Why can't we all pretend to be dragons and have the best dragon contest instead of fight wars. That would be amazing. Just imagine: grown men and woman from all different countries in a large room, laying on mats and growling and snarling at each other. It would be amazing.
