Good god. They don't have enough people to do what needs to be done as as such it feels likes nothing gets done on time and it's hard to know when I have to do something and when I don't have to.  I feel like everyone has to do everything and it makes everything inefficient.

I cant argue with progress, just you.
Try 6 years in retail. I have a black sludge fill hole where my compassion used to be. I used to be a nice person.

Welcome to retail.

One of the worst industries to work in in the world.

Worked 4 years in retail at McDonalds, there's much to go.

I'm a service officer at the local Post Office now, still retail, but..it's not just selling crap, it feels more important, so I can live with that.

*sips tea*

I neither fear, nor despise.
Retail, then fast food, now a server.

I need to get out of the food industry, but there isn't much here, it's a tourist trap. Hopefully my music degree will get me a job somewhere.

I'm glad I haven't worked retail, but being an EMT has its fair share of experiences.

I'd sell myself on the street before I switch to a legit retail job.

We always say to fight fire, you must use fire. This is wrong. Fighting fire with fire will leave scars and a new flame will rise. We must instead use water. It is the opposite of fire, it extinguishes the fire, it cools, it refreshes, it heals. We are made up of 70% water, we are not made up of 70% fire. Please practice what we truly are
Retail definitely makes my Teacher's aide job more appealing. I just wished excessive drama would go away.

I think all people should be required to work retail or service jobs as their first job so they understand how terrible people are.

Meh. I've been enjoying my job more than I have school. At least my job actually pays me. I feel like school's just setting me up to fail, or else I'd be almost done with it by now.

How about construction as a laborer?

-Stupid bosses making bad calls that comes out on you or gives you some extra shit tier work
-Caustic, bitter, unhappy higher ups calling your shots
-Delays delays delays
-Dealing with public safety standards, and having said public be fucking stupid about your safety setups anyway
-Dealing with working around people occupying a building as you work on it "Noise complaints"
-Half your paycheck getting sucked down the shitter
-Waking up way too fucking early
-Overtime

I originally meant like restaurant servers and such, but construction is a good example, too.

I'm sure there's a ton of local studios that could use competent producers

Oh believe me. I know both. I work a restaurant. More appropriately, a coffee shop.

The stupidity you have to put up with is embarrassing. But for me, construction takes the cake because not only do you have to deal with stupid bullshit, but you have to deal with stupid physical bullshit.

Shovel two dump trucks worth of sand into a basement.

Boss comes over.

"Sorry guys, mistakes in the blueprints not lining up, we need you to take the sand out."

Could have used a fucking caterpillar to dump the sand in there in the first place and take it out.

But no. By shovel and wheelbarrow was the way to go.

Yeah, or Live Sound setups, something related to that.
